Alan Donohoe was the lead singer of English rock band The Rakes, whose debut album Capture/Release reached number 32 in the UK album chart. He has twice appeared in NME's annual Cool List. Donohoe married and lives in Brighton, and drives a Triumph car.
He is from London. Prior to joining the band, Donohoe worked in a hospital. He writes lyrics on his mobile phone, saving them in a folder named "My Lyrics".
The singer is now working on a new music project with friend and fellow musician Andy Knowles.[1]
Donohoe is a vegan and is a supporter of the animal rights group PETA (People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals). He once participated in a demonstration against the Running Of the Bulls in Pamplona, in which he stripped naked with hundred of other people to promote the "Running of the Nudes" a cruelty free alternative to the event.
